Article I of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) requires members to accord each other most-favored-nation (MFN) status, which prohibits members from giving more favorable tariff treatment to some trading partners but not others, with exceptions for certain FTAs or unilateral concessions for developing countries.
