A human-controlled trial at the New York State Psychiatric Institute found that ketamine administered to cocaine-addicted patients who were not seeking treatment or abstinence reduced their cocaine self-consumption and resulted in high scores on the Hood Mysticism Scale (HMS) compared to the Clinician-Administered Dissociative States Scale (CADSS) and the Near-Death Experience Scale (NDES).
