Mucosa-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells express a semi-invariant T-cell receptor (TCR) containing the Vα7.2-Jp33 chain, are double negative for CD4 and CD8, and recognize hydrophilic antigens presented in MR1 (MHC-I-related) molecules present in B cells.
