Two factors cause antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in bacteria with high inoculum sizes: (i) a reduction in drug concentration due to the presence of supplementary drug target sites in both viable and non-viable cells, and (ii) an inadequate ratio of medicinal compounds to the high concentration of microorganisms.
