procedure
During natural product biosynthesis in plants, UDP-monosaccharide and GDP-monosaccharide are formed in the cytoplasm, transported to the Golgi apparatus by nucleotide sugar transport proteins, and then transferred by glycosyltransferases (GTs) to extended chains to form polysaccharides via dehydration and condensation, before being transported to different parts of the plant body via secretory vacuoles.
