An insulating material made from lignocellulosic biomass with a thickness of 60 mm and a density of 36 kg m−3 achieved a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.75, demonstrating its potential to replace synthetic materials like glass wool and polyester, which have NRC values of 0.85 and 0.60 respectively.
