The study hypothesizes that legal emotions mediate the relationship between parent–child attachment and adolescent problematic behavior. Specifically, it posits that both paternal and maternal attachment positively predict positive legal emotions (which negatively predict problematic behavior) and negatively predict negative legal emotions (which positively predict problematic behavior).
