During the Yuruparí dance rites, Tukano participants consume tobacco, coca, manioc beer, and yagé while chanting myths in unison, with the goal of allowing young boys to enter into controlled contact with the source of life and the world of myth to gain visionary knowledge by assuming the identity of the He People or first ancestors.
