In a 2018 study by Y. Lu involving 7,422 Japanese participants aged 65 or older from the Ohsaki Cohort 2006 study, a change to long sleep duration (LSD) was associated with a higher risk of incident dementia with an odds ratio (OR) of 1.13 to 1.72.
