procedure
According to Hinchman (2005), a speaker (S) tells an audience (A) that a proposition (p) is true if and only if A recognizes that S, in asserting that p, intends: (i) that A gain access to an epistemic reason to believe that p, (ii) that A recognize S's intention (i), and (iii) that A gain access to the epistemic reason to believe that p as a direct result of A's recognition of S's intention (ii).
