The Reversing Atherosclerosis with Aggressive Lipid Lowering (REVERSAL) trial reported that regression of vascular disease occurred only in the group of patients who achieved low levels of both low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP).
