Residential appliances considered in the study have the following power ratings and usage probabilities: lights (15W per person, always present), fans (70W per person, always present), refrigerators (150W, always present), air conditioners (1.5kW per room, 70% probability), televisions (120W per room, 90% probability), microwaves (1kW, 30% probability), mixers (500W, 80% probability), geysers (2kW, 60% probability), room heaters (1kW, 40% probability, winter only), and washing machines (500W, 70% probability).
