Medicinal plant preparation methods vary by plant part: (A) For flowers, thin leaves, or essential oils, pour boiling water over a teaspoon of coarsely powdered drug in a glass, cover, rest for 5 minutes, and filter through cotton. (B) For coarse-grained leaves or soft fruits, boil a teaspoon of material in a glass of water for 1-2 minutes, rest for 5 minutes, and filter through cotton. (C) For roots, bark, hard fruits, and seeds, boil a teaspoon of coarsely powdered material in a cup of water for 3-5 minutes, rest for 5 minutes, and filter through cotton.
