The supercritical-CO2 (Sc-CO2) pretreatment process for lignocellulosic biomass involves placing 70% aqueous solution lignocellulosic biomass in a preheated chamber, maintaining a constant flow of CO2 at 50 g per minute for 2 hours, and operating at pressures of 200–500 bar and temperatures of 100–150 °C.
