The 2020 update to COSPAR's planetary protection policy for icy moons was based on a project funded by the European Commission and led by the European Science Foundation, with partners including DLR/Germany, INAF/Italy, Eurospace, Space Technology/Ireland, Imperial College London, the China Academy of Space Technology, and the NAS-SSB.
