In a study of 274 patients with acute cerebral infarction, independent factors associated with a hospital stay of less than 30 days included: a FEES within 48 hours of admission (OR, 2.040; 95% CI, 1.120-3.700; p=0.019), a FILS level of 6 or greater at admission (OR, 2.300; 95% CI, 1.190-4.440; p=0.013), and an administered energy dose of 18.5 kcal/kg or greater on hospital day 3 (OR, 2.360; 95% CI, 1.180-4.690; p=0.015).
