The Open Hardware Design Alliance (OHANDA) label represents four freedoms adapted from the Free Software movement: the freedom to use the device for any purpose; the freedom to study how the device works and change it (requiring access to the complete design); the freedom to redistribute the device or design (remanufacture); and the freedom to improve the device or design and release those improvements to the public.
