D’Amato, Liccardi, Cecchi, Pellegrino, & D’Amato (2010) documented a case study of an 18-year-old man with asthma who experienced asthma symptoms triggered by monitoring his ex-girlfriend's activity on Facebook after a breakup; these symptoms ceased when he stopped using the platform.
