In a 2020 study by Q. Zhu involving 5,419 Chinese participants aged 70-90 from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey, a change to long sleep duration (LSD) was associated with a higher risk of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) with an odds ratio (OR) of 1.41 to 3.39.
