For the survey, the authors aggregated terrestrial and aquatic “artificial” habitats and various “marine” ecosystems, defining “artificial” ecosystems to include spaces used for agriculture and animal grazing, while excluding cave ecosystems as they are impractical for large-scale renewable energy deployment projects (LSWS).
