Luke Roelofs (2014, 2015, 2019) argues that humans cannot recognize or imagine the basic micro-conscious ingredients of consciousness because these ingredients are never experienced in isolation from complex combinations, and therefore, there is no good reason to deny that these ingredients are small in number.
