Autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (ALPS) and IPEX (X-linked syndrome of immunodeficiency, polyendocrinopathy, and enteropathy) are types of primary immunodeficiency where the ability to respond to an infection is intact, but the ability to regulate that response is abnormal, leading to prominent autoimmunity.
