Contemporary migrant labor systems, such as Canada's reliance on agricultural labor from Jamaica and Mexico, domestic labor from the Philippines, and sexual labor from Latin America, post-socialist European states, and Russia, share problems with historical Caribbean indentured labor, including recruitment under false pretenses, debt repayment through labor, low wages, and poor working conditions.
