In the summer of 1975, President Gerald Ford ordered the implementation of 20 of the 30 recommendations from the Rockefeller Commission, including measures for improved internal supervision of CIA activities, restrictions on domestic activities, a ban on mail openings, and an end to wiretaps, abuse of tax information, and drug testing on unsuspecting persons.
