The CERN Open Hardware License (OHL) (Ayass & Serrano, 2012) and the OSH DIN SPEC 3105-1 (Bonvoisin et al., 2020) stipulate that Open Source Hardware designs must grant users the fundamental rights to use, modify, share, and distribute hardware designs, including the distribution of physical artifacts for economic gain.
