High school students reporting insufficient sleep (less than 8 hours on an average school night) were more likely to experience feelings of sadness or hopelessness, consider suicide, and make suicide plans compared with those with sufficient sleep, according to an analysis of the 2021 Florida Youth Risk Behavior Survey by Gunderson et al.
