Cognitive-behavioral approaches are advocated for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy because they avoid cultural insensitivity, make minimal speculative assumptions about the nature of the mind and reality, and have the largest empirical support base for safety and effectiveness outside of psychedelic therapy.
